getDowntown Program Survey

getDowntown conducts a periodic survey of both employees and their employers in our service area.  We use this survey to get a sense of how people are getting to work, what amenities or infrastructure might be needed to support a non-driving commute, and how employers are using the program to support their business needs.  The full survey report is available at this link.

Over 35,000 Alternative Commutes Logged During 2018 Commuter Challenge

ANN ARBOR, MI – The getDowntown Program is excited to announce that over 35,000 alternative commutes were logged by almost 2,300 commuters in this year’s Commuter Challenge held during the month of May. These commuters, from 307 different organizations, commuted to work by walking, biking, taking the bus, carpooling, vanpooling and telecommuting.

Honorable mention goes out to our next place finishers in each category who worked till the end to get their workmates to log those commutes.

Extra Small Organization with 2-10 employees winner - AlertWatch. 100% participation! 192 trips logged. They will enjoy a Tea Party complements of Tea Haus.

Howard Walks Over Greg to Commuter Challenge Victory!

Trophy Awarded to City Administrator with Much Pomp and Circumstance

Ann Arbor City Administrator, Howard Lazarus literally walked over Washtenaw County Administrator, Greg Dill to score a victory in the 1st Annual Howard vs Greg Commuter Challenge. 

The Administrators went head to head during the month of May to rack up alternative commuting points for the competition. Howard bested Greg with 28 alternative commutes to 16 alternative commutes.

More Than 2,400 People Competed in Commuter Challenge

ANN ARBOR, MI –  The getDowntown program is excited to announce that more than 2,400 competed in this year’s Commuter Challenge held during the month of May. Of the over 2,400, more than 500 were new commuters that work across 280 organizations. These commuters logged nearly 38,000 alternative commutes by walking, biking, taking the bus, carpooling, vanpooling, telecommuting and even kayaking to work.

Last Day of the Commuter Challenge!

It's been a fun and exciting month for the 2017 Commuter Challenge. Tomorrow is the last day for this challenge. Let's make it a good one!

We plan to send out a survey to get your feedback about how the challenge went and where you would like to see improvements. So, start thinking of the ideas you'd like to share with us.

Commuter Challenge Organization Prizes Announced!

With one week to go, our Commuter Challenge teams are working hard to log those commutes and move up in the Leaderboard rankings. Additional incentive to get your workmates registered and logging commutes has arrived! There's still time, so let's get more coworkers to join the fun.
