Last Day of the Commuter Challenge!

It's been a fun and exciting month for the 2017 Commuter Challenge. Tomorrow is the last day for this challenge. Let's make it a good one!

We plan to send out a survey to get your feedback about how the challenge went and where you would like to see improvements. So, start thinking of the ideas you'd like to share with us.

With one week to go, our Commuter Challenge teams are working hard to log those commutes and move up in the Leaderboard rankings. Additional incentive to get your workmates registered and logging commutes has arrived! There's still time, so let's get more coworkers to join the fun.

Here are the amazing and fun Organization Prizes this year for those who prevail:

ANN ARBOR, MI –  The getDowntown Program, along with The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (TheRide), is excited to announce a forty-seven percent increase in participation in the Conquer the Cold Challenge that took place January 1 – January 31, 2017, making this year’s challenge the most participated Conquer the Cold Challenge to date for the organization.

Participation this year blew away last year by a whopping 47%! Yay for more alternative commuters!

It's Haiku Week!

It's Haiku week for Conquer the Cold and winter has definitely shown up. If you work in the Ann Arbor/Ypsi Area, register now ( and post your winter commuting Haiku on the getDowntown Facebook page or email it to: 

Prizes for randomly chosen winners include a $50 gift card to Sam's Store, $25 gift card to Ypsi Running Co. and a free bike tune up at one of our local participating bike shops. Winners announced 1/16/17.

This fall and winter, we're challenging you to #OwnWinter with Conquer the Cold!

To inspire you to continue to bus, bike and walk even during the winter, we're going to be featuring some awesome folks who are going to be commuting right along with you.

Maeve Sullivan is an Admin Assistant at the UM School of Nursing since March.

She's been a regular participant in our challenges and loves doing them.
