This fall and winter, we're challenging you to #OwnWinter with Conquer the Cold!
To inspire you to continue to bus, bike and walk even during the winter, we're going to be featuring some awesome folks who are going to be commuting right along with you.
Maeve Sullivan is an Admin Assistant at the UM School of Nursing since March.
She's been a regular participant in our challenges and loves doing them.

The getDowntown Program recently received a shipment of bike lights and reflective vests. Check out the picture above. Thanks again to the Ann Arbor DDA for providing the funds to make this purchase!
We care about your safety, so we are making these lights and vests available to downtown Ann Arbor employees (not UM-affiliated) for free.
We are particularly interested in getting them in the hands of employees who might not have the funds to purchase anything for themselves.

Give your loved one the gift of visibility with some lights or reflective gear for their alternative commute.
No matter if they bike, bus or walk, a little bling goes a long way.
Here are some great light up gift items to consider:

Particularly because we are here to encourage people to walk, bike and bus.
We've spent a lot of time thinking about what can be done to make the roads safer. Here's some of the ideas we've come up with that you can implement today:

While it hasn't snowed much yet, chances are we'll see the white stuff flying at some point soon.
Here are some great resources on how to deal with the snow when it comes our way:
