The getDowntown Program recently received a shipment of bike lights and reflective vests. Check out the picture above. Thanks again to the Ann Arbor DDA for providing the funds to make this purchase!
We care about your safety, so we are making these lights and vests available to downtown Ann Arbor employees (not UM-affiliated) for free.
We are particularly interested in getting them in the hands of employees who might not have the funds to purchase anything for themselves.

As bike commuters ourselves, we here at getDowntown have been especially saddened by the recent cycling deaths in Ann Arbor.
Particularly because we are here to encourage people to walk, bike and bus.

According to the 2014 American Community Survey, Ann Arbor ranks #13 out of the Top 20 cities with the highest share of bicyclists.
At 5% commute by bike, we beat our Minneapolis, San Francisco, Washington DC, Seattle and several others when we comes to total number who bike commute by population.

Ann Arbor DDA and getDowntown Launch 2nd Bike House at Ann Ashley Parking Structure
Ribbon Cutting Planned for August 27th
Strong demand from companies such as Duo Security, Deepfield and Mighty Good Coffee prompted the DDA and the getDowntown Program to launch a second Bike House in downtown Ann Arbor at the Ann Ashley Parking Structure. The Ann Ashley Bike House is located in the Ann Ashley Parking Structure directly in front of the parking office.

1. Get things together the night before. It will be your commitment to your alternative commute, and it will make you more likely to follow through the next day.
2. Find a commuting buddy. If you're cycling to work for the first time, as a more experienced friend or coworker to do it with you for the first day or week.
