Introducing the New getDowntown Director

picture of Nancy Shore Hi, my name is Nancy Shore and I am the new Director of the getDowntown Program.

A little about myself: I'm originally from Montgomery Village, MD and moved to Ann Arbor with my husband in 2002.  My first job when I got to Ann Arbor was working at Zingerman's Deli!  I am a dedicated biker, walker, and bus rider.  I know it's not always easy to understand all of the options for getting around.  That's why I'm here for you.

A little about what I can do for you: The getDowntown Program is dedicated to providing employers and employees with all the info they need to get downtown by bus, bike, and more.   Think of me as your Commuter Consultant.  I'm here to answer any questions you have about commuting downtown.

I am eager to hear your thoughts and suggestions, so feel free to email me at nancy@annarborchamber.org or call me at 734-214-0100.

Commuter of the Month

For Natalie Holbrook, the decision to bike from Ypsi to Ann Arbor has many benefits.  Her commute takes her off the beaten path and helped her lose 60 pounds!

8 Reasons to Renew Your go!pass Today
go!pass 2008

By now you've probably received a go!pass renewal invoice for 2008.  That's because your 2007 go!passes expire on October 31rst and we want to give you plenty of time to get your order in so your employees can get their new go!passes.

The renewal deadline is September 15th.  This is to ensure we can get you the new passes before the old ones expire.

Why renew your go!passes?  Here are a couple of reasons to consider:

  1. The go!pass is a great fall back for your employees if their car breaks down.
  2. The go!pass offers tons of discounts for you and your employees.
  3. Each go!pass costs about as much as a toothpick bird at Acme Mercantile.  Both devices are fun, useful, and cheap (although I wouldn't recommend letting your dinner party guests pick their teeth with your go!pass).
  4. The go!pass is a great, affordable way for your employees to get to work.  And you, wonderful boss, are to thank for that benefit.
  5. According to EZine Articles, the two hot colors for fall are purple and green.  The go!pass' green and pink look will compliment this style nicely.
  6. Another hot trend this year: global warming.  Do your part to keep things cool with the go!pass.
  7. 50% of all downtown businesses can't be wrong.  That's how many participated last year.  So hop on the bandwagon and renew today.
  8. It's really easy to renew.  Either mail or fax the form back (734-665-4191) to me or give me a call and I can take your renewal order over the phone.  If you really wanted to be spiffy, you could scan the renewal form and email it to me.  Whatever works for you.
I hope this newsletter was fun and informative.  If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Nancy Shore
