Main Street Lunchtime Historical Walk
May 23, 2007Interested in learning more about the history of downtown Ann Arbor? Join us for a guided walking tour of the Main Street ea led by Ray Detter and Louisa Pieper. Located at the founding site of Ann Arbor, the early Courthouse and its spacious town square was a center of activity surrounded by some of the town’s finest hotels, earliest communication sources, and grandest commercial buildings. Walk Main Street and get a feel of that earlier time when banks and businesses, shops, theaters and movie houses thrived, German was commonly spoken on the street and parades and streetcars, were a part of the changing scene.
