Bike Fest
June 16, 2006Bike Fest 2006 debuts this June in conjunction with the 6th Annual Green Fair! The purpose of Bike Fest is to celebrate and showcase Ann Arbor's biking community & to promote biking as a fun, healthy, and sustainable transportation option. Come on down to Main Street for an evening for an evening of bike mania! Grab a bite to eat, test your skills, learn something new & celebrate the the diverse bike culture we have here in Ann Arbor.
When: Friday, June 16 th 2006 from 6-9pm
Where: On Main Street between William and Liberty (Green Fair continues to Huron)
Event Highlights
- Freeride Bike Demo
- Bike Obstacle Courses & Races
- Contests (track stands, fastest wrench, bike pull)
- Contests will open to participate in throughout the entire evening. We will hold a large group track stand contest at 8:45 pm.
- Bike Maintenance & Safety Inspection Booth
- Introductory Bike Maintenace Class from 7:30-8:30pm
- Displays by local bike shops and membership organizations
- Informative displays on the City's proposed Nonmotorized Transportation Plan
- Activities for kids. Bring your bike and helmet!
- Free, attended bike parking

Bike Fest is appearing in conjunction with the City of Ann Arbor's Green Fair. The Green Fair is an opportunity to learn about local environmental groups and activities.
