Night Ride
Working Late? Need a ride home? When the buses stop running, Night Ride is here!
General Information
Night Ride is a late-night, shared-ride taxi service run by the AATA. Night Ride costs $5 per trip, but is only $3 with your go!pass. With Night Ride service to compliment the normal AATA fixed route service, car-free transportation is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year within Ann Arbor.
To be able to use the go!pass discount on Night Ride you must meet the following requirements:
- One of the trips made using the go!pass discount *must* start or end in the Downtown Development Authority’s boundaries.
- The trip must be work-related, and no pick ups will be done at any University of Michigan buildings.
Night Ride service is available from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on weekdays (Monday-Friday), and 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. on weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
New Service Starting January 29, 2012: Night Ride's service area now includes the portion of Ypsilanti between Clark/Huron River Drive on the north, Ellsworth/Michigan Avenue on the south, east to Huron. See the detailed map here.
How to use NightRide
- To reserve a ride, call 734-528-5432.
- Give the dispatcher your pickup location, your destination, and the number of passengers.
- Night Ride cabs can take 15-50 minutes to arrive, but the average wait is 20 minutes.
- Night Ride is a shared-ride service, and so the cab may pick up and/or drop off passengers on the way to your destination. You should allow at least an hour to complete your trip, but the average trip takes 45 minutes.
- You may wait indoors, but watch for the Night Ride’s arrival - the cab only waits for 2 minutes.
- You may carry and take with you only what you can hold on your lap, except wheelchairs and walkers.
- Service for wheelchair users is provided with a lift-equipped van.
Fare
Night Ride Trips are $5.00, but if you show your go!pass, trips are only $3.
NightRide Card
Employers: To request these business-card sized informational cards for your employees, contact us. Cards fit easily into a pocket or wallet, and having a supply available at your business for late-night employees provides information on how they can get home.
