Taking the Bus: Ann Arbor Transportation Authority (AATA)
- A2 Chelsea Express
- NEW! Live in the Chelsea area? Take the Ann Arbor Chelsea Express!
- With the A2 Chelsea Express, you'll experience the comfort of coach bus service at a price you can afford.
- This Commuter Bus service departs the Arctic Coliseum (501 Coliseum Dr.) in Chelsea at 6:14 and 7:11am and arrives in downtown Ann Arbor around 6:30 and 7:30am. The service leaves downtown Ann Arbor at around 3:50 and 5:19pm and gets back to Chelsea at 4:15 and 5:44pm. The service costs just $125 a month, which is cheaper than paying for gas for the same distance!
- The bus has a guaranteed ride home program, so if you need to get home or somewhere else in a emergency, AATA will pay to get you there.

- The Ride (AATA Buses)
- AATA's service area includes the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area and connections serving Chelsea & Dexter. This makes commuting to your job downtown even easier! It costs $1 to ride the bus one way, if you don't have a go!pass.

- AATA is now on Google Transit. Use Google Transit to find the best route from one location to another.
- Park & Ride
- AATA has a number of Park & Ride lots located throughout Ann Arbor, which allows employees who downtown to commute part of the way by car, and the rest of the way by bus.
- Forget the hassle and cost of parking downtown!
- Nightride
- NEW Get off work after the buses stop running? Use the Night Ride Shuttle!
- Night Ride Shuttle is a new taxi service offered by the AATA
- The Night Ride Shuttle picks employees up at Fourth and Liberty (at Link stop D) in Downtown Ann Arbor at 11:15pm, 12:00am, 12:45am, and 1:30am
- The Shuttle drops you off at your house if you live in the service area (the West Side of Ann Arbor) or will drop you off at the Pioneer Park and Ride Lot.
- The service runs ever single day of the week and is currently free!

- Bike the Ride
- AATA has also installed bike racks on all of their buses, which allows more options for combining biking and busing to work.
- Now you can ride to work by bike and ride home by bus if there is a change in your schedule, your workload or the weather.

- The Link
- AATA’s downtown connector route The Link, makes it easy to get around downtown once you’re here.
- The Link connects the four areas of downtown Ann Arbor Main Street, Kerrytown, State Street, and South University.
- The Link runs from August-May.
Ordering Ride Guides and Other AATA Materials
Need more Ride Guides? The AATA can ship Ride Guides (bus schedules) to your place of business. Businesses can call the AATA Community Relations Department at 677-3916 or email lcrawford@theride.org to request Ride Guides. The AATA can even put you on their mailing list to receive Guides automatically each time they are published. Individuals and businesses can also order Ride Guides and other AATA materials by clicking here: request AATA publications.
Megabus
- Megabus runs bus trips from Ann Arbor (at the State Street Commuter Lot, across from Howard Cooper Honda) to Chicago for as little as $1 a day.

Michigan Flyer
- Michigan Flyer runs bus trips from the Four Points Sheraton in Ann Arbor to Metro Airport.
- The cost is $15 one way.

University of Michigan Bus System
- The University of Michigan bus system is often overlooked by Ann Arbor residents not affiliated with the U of M. However, the buses are free to all and run frequently. Depending on your commute, they may be just the right solution for you.
